Guide

Which PDF tool do I need?

Start from the problem. A file that is too big to send needs Compress PDF. Several files that should arrive as one need Merge PDF. One long file that should be several, or only a few of its pages, needs Split PDF. Pages that are sideways, upside down or out of order need Organize PDF. Photos that must become a document need JPG to PDF, and pages that must become pictures need PDF to JPG.

For the most common compression jobs there are pages with the target already set: under 1 MB for strict forms, a 10 MB start for email attachments, and Recommended for scanned paper documents.

In what order should I use them?

For an application bundle the reliable order is organize, merge, compress, and split only if needed. Fix the pages of each scan first, combine the documents in the order the reviewer expects, compress the result to the size limit, and split it by size if one file still can’t fit. Merging, splitting and organizing copy pages without re-compressing them, so only the compression step changes quality, and you see a preview of that step before you pay.

What do all the tools have in common?

They run in any modern browser on a computer or phone, with no account. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest and deleted automatically. Digitally signed PDFs are left unchanged unless you opt in to a marked, unsigned copy. Only after you have seen what you get. The estimated size and a preview of your own page appear before anything is charged, and you only pay for files you receive: if a file can’t get smaller you get the original back free, and a size target that can’t be reached costs nothing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are the PDF tools free?

Merge, split, organize, JPG to PDF and PDF to JPG are free for files up to 20 MB and 100 pages, up to 3 files at a time. Compression uses credits, and you get 5 free credits every day. Bigger jobs show their credit cost before you run anything.

Does compression cost credits?

Yes, but the first job of the day is usually covered: 5 free credits a day pay for one Recommended compression of up to 20 pages. You pay only for files you receive; a file that can’t get smaller comes back free.

What happens with digitally signed PDFs?

Anything that rewrites a PDF breaks its digital signature, so signed files are flagged when you add them and are left unchanged. If you only need a copy to read or archive, you can opt in to an unsigned copy. It is marked on every page and does not replace your signed original.

How long do you keep my files?

Files are deleted automatically 24 hours after processing on the free tier, 3 days with credits and 7 days with Pro. You can press “Delete now” at any time, or keep a file 30 days for 2 credits. Only you can download files from your results page, unless you create a share link yourself (up to 24 hours or until the file is deleted, and you can revoke it). Files are never sent by email.

Do I need an account?

No. PinchPDF works in your browser without sign-up. Credits, if you buy them later, belong to this browser; signing in with Google is optional and only moves your wallet to another device.
