    How it works

    How to merge PDF files

    1. Drop your PDFs

Add all the files you want to combine, from your computer or your phone. You need at least two.

    2. Set the order

Files are merged in list order. Move them up or down with the arrows until the sequence is right.

    3. Add bookmarks if useful

Turn on “Create bookmarks from file names” to get a clickable outline that jumps to the start of each original file.

    4. Merge and download

Press Merge PDF and download one combined document from your results page.

    Why it’s different

    Merging without surprises

    Exact page count

The merged file contains every page of every input, in the order you set, and nothing else.

    Original quality

Pages are copied as they are. Nothing is re-compressed while merging, so text and images look exactly like the inputs.

    Bookmarks from file names

Long bundles stay easy to navigate: each original file can become a bookmark in the merged PDF.

    Good to know

    When should I merge PDFs?

Merge when someone expects one document but you have several files: an application with an ID, certificates and a CV, a contract with its annexes, or a month of receipts for an expense claim. One file is easier to upload and to review, and nobody receives only half of it.

Merging also helps you: one file is easier to name, archive and find again than a folder of loose scans.

    Does merging change the pages?

No. Each page is copied into the new file as it is, so text, images, page size and orientation stay exactly as in the inputs. Nothing is re-compressed, which also means the merged file is about as large as all the inputs added together.

How do I get the files in the right order?

Files are merged in list order. Name them in the order the reviewer expects, or move them with the up and down arrows before merging. If a page inside one of the files is out of place or upside down, fix it afterwards with Organize PDF, which lets you drag, rotate and delete pages on thumbnails.

The merged file is too big to upload. What now?

Send it to Compress PDF. Merging adds sizes together, so scans that were fine on their own can exceed a 5 or 10 MB form limit once combined. Compress the merged file to the limit with Custom size, or split it by size if the form accepts several files.

    Merging on a phone

The whole job works in a mobile browser: pick the PDFs from your phone’s Files app or downloads, set the order and save the merged file back to your phone. If you opened the link inside a chat app and the download doesn’t start, open the same page in your phone’s main browser.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

Up to 3 files per job for free, 10 with credits and 20 with Pro. Each file can be up to 20 MB and 100 pages for free; bigger files cost a few credits, shown before you run.

    Will merging lower the quality?

No. Pages are copied without re-compression, so the merged file looks exactly like the inputs. If you need it smaller afterwards, compress the merged file as a separate step and check the preview.

    What are the bookmarks for?

With “Create bookmarks from file names” on, the merged PDF gets an outline with one entry per original file. Readers can jump straight to, say, the certificate or the annex instead of scrolling through every page.

Can I merge PDFs on my phone?

Yes. The tool runs in the mobile browser: pick the files from your phone’s storage, set the order and download the result. It also works inside the browsers built into chat apps, though a full browser is more reliable for downloads.

What happens with digitally signed PDFs?

Anything that rewrites a PDF breaks its digital signature, so signed files are flagged when you add them and are left unchanged. If you only need a copy to read or archive, you can opt in to an unsigned copy. It is marked on every page and does not replace your signed original.

How long do you keep my files?

Files are deleted automatically 24 hours after processing on the free tier, 3 days with credits and 7 days with Pro. You can press “Delete now” at any time, or keep a file 30 days for 2 credits. Only you can download files from your results page, unless you create a share link yourself (up to 24 hours or until the file is deleted, and you can revoke it). Files are never sent by email.
